Well, I got the role, and get to make my own costume also!

I went to the fabric district yesterday, and found some stores that were giving out remnants for only 1 dollar! I got this beautiful burgundy, reddish brown fabric that is just utterly perfect for the skirt!! EEK! I'm so excited!

Well, the skirt is finished! Not the best in the world, but hey - :). I didn't use a pattern, but drafted six panels of fabric (10 inches at the top, and 22 a the bottom) and gathered it into a waistband, and viola! Done! I still have to draft that darn bodice, though...

I'm using Simplicity 5799 for the blouse and bodice of this costume. I believe this pattern has been discontinued. It's been lying around in my pattern box for more than a year now, so I guess I should use it. I'm using the blouse and the black bodice. Basicallly the same thing she has on.

Yeah, I lied, sorry... When I said that I "finished" it, I meant that I had sewed it together.. hah! Nevermind... I put in the gold grommets, and ended up using my school uniform blouse (with a few alterations) instead. Looks pretty cute, actually!
